Cesco Linguistic Services, Inc has a large requirement for various interpreting services like online interpreting services, telephone interpreting, video remote interpreting, simultaneous conference interpreting. The job requirement is for various organizations including medical clinics and hospitals, law offices, worker compensation offices, schools and other community service organizations as well as government agencies. Appointments are generally for on-site assignments throughout the Denver Metropolitan area.
The following qualities are desirable for the interpreters:
In Onsite Interpreting Services the interpreter is physically present on site, and in person. He conducts the interpretation session between the agency staff and the limited English speaker.
The requirement for Onsite Interpreting Services may occur in legal court rooms, medical hospitals, and school environments etc.
As indicated by the word “remote,” this type of interpreting is performed when the interpreter is located in a remote location and conducting the interpretation session via phone.
The requirement for phone interpreting includes medical and police emergencies where time is of the essence.
Another scenario where OPI is used is in telephone help lines. This can span across different industries where language assistance is essential for rendering a given service such as domestic violence victims where connecting the limited English speaker with a social worker would be of great value.
One last scenario that comes to mind is when the limited English person speaks a language or lesser diffusion in the give geographical location. This basically means that an interpreter who speaks that language may be difficult to find locally and thus securing that interpreter via the phone would be more realistic, practical, and possible.
Video Remote Interpreting or VRI falls under the Remote Interpreting umbrella of services. In a typical VRI scenario, hiring staff and the limited English speaking person are located together at a location with a desktop computer configured with a web camera, or a smart device (such as a Smartphone or a tablet) equipped with a video camera. The interpreter is located remotely and may be working directly from an office, a home-based office, or possibly even a call center.
The demand for VRI is currently in a wide variety of settings including hospital facilities, medical offices, mental health settings, higher education, court systems, and business settings.
Simultaneous Interpreting Services requires the interpreter to be fluent in at least two languages and being able to switch from one to the other seamlessly. Conference interpreters must also process information at a high rate of words per minute without the possibility of interrupting the speaker.
The requirement for simultaneous Interpreting Services occurs for conferences and events where the attendees are from countries where English is not the official language. It is also a way to reach out to non-English speakers in the US.
