Cesco Linguistic Services Bridges Language Gap for CU Denver’s Admitted Students Day

Denver, CO – April 26, 2023 – Cesco Linguistic Services, a leading Denver-based language services provider, recently partnered with the University of Colorado Denver to deliver interpreters and interpretation technology for Admitted Students Day on April 21.

The collaboration aimed to create a more inclusive and accessible environment for Spanish-speaking students and their families, supporting CU Denver’s strategic goal of becoming the nation’s first equity-serving institution.

The University of Colorado Denver welcomed approximately 1,000 guests to its Admitted Students Day event. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the university’s colleges, programs, financial services, advising, housing, school culture, and class registration.

Tours and fun activities were organized to enhance the experience and give admitted students a taste of life at CU Denver.

To ensure Spanish-speaking students and their families could actively participate in the event, Cesco Linguistic Services provided live language interpretation, including handheld receivers and headsets for real-time Spanish interpretation.

This initiative allowed Spanish-speaking attendees to feel more connected to the university and fully participate in the day’s events.

CU Denver has a diverse student population, with about half of its undergraduates being students of color and approximately one-quarter identifying as Hispanic or Latinx. 

The university is actively working toward becoming the nation’s first equity-serving institution, and the collaboration with Cesco Linguistic Services is a significant step toward that goal.

Giovanna Carriero-Contreras, Owner and Co-Founder of Cesco Linguistic Services emphasized the importance of language access in education. 

“Being able to understand what your children are experiencing first-hand, and understand what is coming next, means you can buy into the future they envision,” she said.
