Providing localization services to the Tech Start-Up since 2017, we localized this client’s software and User Manual into the following 22 languages.
The client is a fast growing tech start-up within the software industry, focusing on the development of a sophisticated 3D navigation system aimed at enhancing dental surgery precision. It’s known for its innovative approach to improving outcomes in dental implant procedures. The Client was looking to expand the global reach of their software by employing our linguistic services to translate their use manual into multiple languages.
The objective was to make the client’s innovative dental surgery software accessible and compliant across diverse global markets. This entailed localizing the software and user-facing materials into various languages to meet regulatory standards in different countries. Initially, the focus was on European languages such as Spanish, French, German, and Italian, but the scope later expanded to include a broader array of languages, totaling 22, including several Asian languages. This expansion was driven by the company’s growth and the need to adapt to new markets.
To meet these requirements, Cesco utilized a network of in-country partners and newly associated vendors, ensuring all were ELIA members and ISO certified. This approach guaranteed that translators had the necessary technical expertise and medical translation experience. Cesco overcame technical hurdles related to the client’s use of QtCreator by mastering the QtLinguist tool for software string localization and converting files to be compatible with Trados for certain vendors. For the User Manual, Cesco employed a strategy to identify and update only the sections that changed from one iteration to the next, significantly reducing costs and effort by avoiding the complete reformatting of the document in all languages for each update.
The localization of both the software strings and User Manual into 22 languages was accomplished successfully, aligning with the client’s timelines and facilitating their product’s entry into various international markets. The client has consistently engaged Cesco for their localization needs, praising the quality of the translations and the efficient, cost-effective solutions provided for ongoing updates.
